There are three kinds of materials for yoga mats, namely PVC, TPE and natural rubber. PVC is polyvinyl chloride, a chemical raw material that is not soft and does not act as a skid buffer before it is treated. But after processing, it has become the main material for making yoga mats. The yoga mat made of PVC has average elasticity and skid resistance, and its price is the cheapest compared with the other two materials.
The second one is TPE. The main features of TPE yoga mats are good toughness, good elasticity and good anti-skid effect, which are generally used in advanced yoga mats. This kind of material can be recycled and reused, and it will not cause environmental pollution after being discarded, so it is a kind of environmental protection material. Because the contact between the body and the mat is long during yoga, a non-toxic and tasteless environmentally friendly yoga mat is very important in terms of health and comfort. This material is an upgraded version of PVC.
And finally, natural rubber. Its anti-skid and grip are excellent, and its service life is relatively long. In terms of price, the rubber material is basically on the high side, because the environmental protection of the production process and the average durability of the product for up to ten years is also one of the reasons for the price difference between the rubber material and the first two materials.
